In these times of uncertainty we must conduct ourselves with reserve and resolve. Fear mongering and scare tactics should not be tolerated. However I find myself having a hard time in swallowing the main stream story pertaining to Radiation leaks.

Prepare and educate yourselves NOW so that when the time comes you will have the knowledge you need to react calmly and logically to knowing how to handle the situation and what must be done. This will better enable you and your loved to be prepared to survive.

Panic = disaster. Staying calm, using your head and knowing what to do = survival.

Radiation exceeding nine times the normal level was briefly detected in Kanagawa, the Japanese news agency Kyodo reported Tuesday morning.

The news came as Japan is dealing with a nuclear emergency at the Fukushima 1 nuclear power plant. Three explosions were reported over the past three days in three reactors at Fukushima 1 nuclear power plant, with a fourth reactor currently on fire.

Japan’s Prime Minister Nyoto Kan said radiation was likely leaking from the nuclear plant and advised anyone within a 20-kilometer radius to stay indoors.

It’s unclear if the radiation detected at Kanagawa is related to the nuclear emergency at the Fukushima plant. Kanagawa is 280 kilometers south of Fukushima.

True story:

I have been doing these survey thingy’s online since about November. I accumulated enough points to qualify for $20 in my paypal account about two weeks ago. I have been on unemployment benefits all of this winter. Anywho, I just got the money in my paypal account and my first thought was “alright EBAY!”.  

Then I thought about it for a second. There was just no way that I could spend this “free” money on myself when there is just too much going on out there in the big, bad world.

They are specifically using the funds for Japan AND Libya. Recognizing human suffering not only from natural disasters but also from hell-bent dictators who are pure hate.

AT&T has announced it will not charge its customers for calls and text messages placed to Japan throughout the remainder of the month.

AT&T Wireless customers will not incur any charges for calls or text messages placed to Japan from within the United States and Puerto Rico until after March 31st.

AT&T landline customers can place free calls to Japan for up to 60 minutes.  Landline customers must call AT&T at the end of the month to be credited for the calls to Japan.

In addition to the free calls, AT&T UVerse has unscrambled TV Japan, which is currently rebroadcasting NHK Japan, for all its customers. The channel will remain free on AT&T and many other cable and satellite systems until the end of the week. [Engadget]

I find something noble and courageous in Japan’s resilience and perseverance, and it will be on display in the coming days. This will also be a time when the tight knit of Japan’s social fabric, its toughness and resilience, shine through. And my hunch is that the Japanese will, by and large, work together — something of a contrast to the polarization and bickering and dog-eat-dog model of politics now on display from Wisconsin to Washington.
